About this role
We are looking for Bachelors, Masters and Doctors in the field of Electric Power Engineering or Engineering Physics. Experience of system studies and/or HVDC is desirable. It is also desirable that you are familiar with the programs and tools we use, such as PSCAD/EMTDC, Matlab, PSSE and DIgSILENT’s PowerFactory. Since we work in an international environment you need to master spoken and written English. As a person you need to be a team player and work in an analytical and structured manner. You take responsibility for your work and deliver on time. Working at the system design and simulation department you will be part of a team that is responsible for the overall performance of an HVDC transmission including interaction with surrounding AC-networks. You will work with analysis and optimization of the system dynamic performance for our HVDC-deliveries including development of control algorithms. The job also includes support during testing of control and protection systems in house and at our sites around the world. The tools we use are mainly PSCAD, PSSE and Power Factory. You will be part of HVDC within the Power Grids division in Ludvika. The HVDC technology has been on the market for the past 60 years and is used to transmit power over long distances with minimal losses, using overhead lines, underground and submarine cable systems.
