The Cell Therapy Business Development Manager is responsible for driving growth of Viracor’s cell therapy testing portfolio through strategic co-selling of CAR T and other cell therapy–associated diagnostics. This role partners closely with field sales, treatment centers, and internal and external commercial and medical stakeholders to expand test utilization and upstream and downstream marketing across the cell therapy continuum. The Business Development Manager is accountable for achieving area revenue goals, strengthening key account relationships, and positioning Viracor as a trusted diagnostic partner in the rapidly evolving cell therapy landscape.
Essential Job Duties:
Drive revenue growth by co-selling Viracor’s cell therapy testing solutions alongside CAR T and cell therapy manufacturers and field sales into treatment centers and across integrated delivery networks (IDN)Identify, develop, and expand strategic partnerships with academic medical centers, transplant programs, IDNs and oncology networks involved in cell therapy deliveryExecute area business plans that align with corporate objectives, focusing on increasing test adoption across the cell therapy patient journeyCollaborate cross-functionally with sales, medical affairs, marketing, and operations teams to deliver integrated solutions to customersLead complex sales processes from opportunity identification through close, including stakeholder mapping, value articulation, and contract alignmentDevelop and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders, physicians, pharmacists, and program administrators in cell therapy centersDeliver high-impact, clinically credible presentations on diagnostic solutions supporting CAR T and other cell therapiesProvide market intelligence, competitive insights, and customer feedback to inform strategy and product developmentMaintain accurate and timely documentation of account activity, pipeline, and forecasts within CRM systemsManage territory expenses in alignment with budget expectationsRepresent Viracor at industry meetings, conferences, and customer eventsEnsure a high level of customer satisfaction through proactive communication, problem-solving, and coordination with internal teamsStay current on advancements in cell therapy, immunology, and diagnostic technologies relevant to the portfolioOther duties as assigned by management Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business, or related field required; advanced degree preferredMinimum seven (7) years of successful sales or business development experience in diagnostics, biotech, or healthcare; experience in oncology, cell transplant, or cell therapy strongly preferredDemonstrated success in complex, collaborative, or co-sell environmentsStrong understanding of CAR T therapies, cell therapy workflows, and associated diagnostic needs (e.g., infectious disease monitoring, immune profiling, molecular testing)Knowledge of U.S. healthcare systems, including academic centers, IDNs, and specialty care delivery modelsProven ability to build and manage strategic relationships with external partners and key stakeholdersStrong business acumen, including territory planning, forecasting, and budget managementAbility to learn and effectively communicate complex scientific and clinical informationExcellent presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills across multiple levels of an organizationHighly organized, goal-oriented, and capable of managing a dynamic territory with competing prioritiesStrong problem-solving skills and ability to operate independently in an entrepreneurial environmentHigh level of professionalism and ability to represent the organization effectivelyProficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools, including ExcelWillingness and ability to travel up to 75%Flexibility to work outside standard business hours as neededPhysical Requirements:
