We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Analytical Chemist to join our Eurofins state-of-the-art laboratory site in Dandenong South, Melbourne. This role is designed for an experienced professional with a deep technical background in liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). You will be responsible for leading complex method development projects and performing high-sensitivity analysis across diverse matrices, specifically focusing on PFAS, Methamphetamines and its precursors, Marine Toxins and Herbicides/Pesticides.
Key Responsibilities
Method Development & Validation: Design, optimize, and validate robust LC-MS/MS methods from scratch to meet regulatory requirements (e.g., NATA, ISO 17025).Complex Analysis: Execute trace-level analysis for PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), multi-residue pesticide screens, and drug/metabolite quantification.Instrumentation Management: Perform advanced troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and calibration of LC systems (Agilent, SCIEX, or Shimadzu) and Triple Quadrupole mass spectrometers.Sample Preparation: Utilize and refine advanced extraction techniques including SPE and Direct Injection.Data Interpretation: Process and review complex datasets using software such as MassHunter, Analyst and Insight.Compliance: Ensure all laboratory activities adhere to strict Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) protocols and safety standards Education: Minimum Bachelor’s, in Chemistry or a related analytical science.
Experience: A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in LC-MS/MS method development is mandatory.
Technical Expertise:
Proven track record in analysing PFAS within the environmental fieldExperience with Pesticide residue analysis or Pharmacokinetic/ Toxicology drug testingDeep understanding of mobile phase chemistry, column selection, and mass spec ionization techniques (ESI/APCI).Team Leadership experience will be highly regardeSoftware Proficiency: Experience with LIMS systems and MS data processing suites.
