About this role
The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for identifying redundant processes and eliminating duplicate work, standardise processes, introducing automated processes that will streamline development & operations, handle internal service requests faster with fewer manual processes and less reliance on staff, reducing costs and improve efficiency. Your role includes gathering requirements, developing workflows, designing solutions, building and implementing solutions, managing quality and providing training. Responsibilities · Setup, support, maintain and improve our environments · Implement and improve Continuous delivery · Resolve problems at their root with simple and repeatable solutions · Tools automation · Configuration management · Network and Application Security · High availability and high-performance solutions Requirements · 4+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer or similar role · Strong background in Linux OS administration – Ubuntu/Debian · Experience with configuration management tools – Chef/Ansible · Excellent skills in Bash, Ruby or other scripting languages · Experience working with server virtualization (VMware), IaaS and PaaS, AWS or hybrid environments · Familiar with Rails eco-system · Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation · Strong experience with Nginx Desired Skills · Passion in providing superb infrastructure solutions · Operating knowledge of PostgreSQL · Strong familiarity with Git including branching and merging strategies · Knowledge of SAN solutions - NetApp · Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Deployments · Experience with Firewalls and load balancers · Experience with Application Containers Technologies · Adopt best practices in documentation, testing, security, and efficient use of resources
