About this role

Sandvik Machining Solutions (SMS) Finance function, supports the strategic and organizational goals by providing world-class business and financial control. The main responsibilities of the Finance function are consolidation and reporting, business control and performance management. We believe that working with finance is all about supporting business objectives by offering our key stakeholders efficient, reliable and proactive financial support. The SMS Business control team has global responsibility and a lot of global interaction among the team members and with both the SMS management and the different product areas around the world. We are now looking for an analytical and team-oriented Global Functional Controller to support SMS common function globally in business controlling within IT, HR and the various country-based finance organizations. This position works closely with the SMS IT BIO. We offer a diverse role in a global and world-leading environment, with a chance to expand business knowledge and implement change. Being part of the SMS Business Control function means having a broad overview of the business. The location for this position is Sandviken and international travel will occasionally be required. Job Summary In this role, you support the Business Management team with controlling services, advice and analysis for all global SMS functions. The most defined area to start with is within the SMS IT Management, where you will assist the business in terms of: monitoring, reporting and analysis of costs; project portfolio; service invoicing; and associated business. To support SMS’s business goals, you ensure increased profitability and cost efficiency through analysis and accurate interpretation of the business KPIs, and also support the global functions of SMS by interacting across borders and assisting with the implementation of new financial initiatives and local ways of working. Other areas of responsibility include: • Documentation, such as profit and loss and balance sheets • Cash flow, investment planning and net working capital • Financial reporting for SMS IT • Monthly, quarterly and annual reports • Making numbers transparent and visible to managers • Proactively highlighting trends, deviations, issues • Supporting decision making • Business planning, such as forecasting, budgets and 3YP • Assisting in establish cost follow-up • Forward looking analysis in business area management Your profile We are looking for someone with a degree in Finance, Business Administration or another relevant field. You have good business understanding and at least three years’ experience in business or financial controlling, where you have been working with, and presenting to, executive management teams. You also have experience from working with international functional financial analysis in a global team. Additionally, experience from global cost control and managing cost initiatives is an advantage, as is experience of being part of a senior management team and assisting decision makers by performing concrete analysis of financial indicators. Furthermore, knowledge of financial consolidation systems, preferably BPC, is required, while experience working in SAP is an asset. As we operate in a global setting, a good ability to express yourself in a clear manner in English, in both writing and speaking, is a prerequisite. We are truly interested in your personality. You are analytical, diplomatic and curious, with a good ability to establish and maintain contacts. By supporting the managers, you create value for the business and, with good communication skills, you make the numbers talk; using them to communicate clearly and suggest actions to the management.
