As a Research Engineer in our Renewables R & D team, you’ll carry out practical, high-impact research that supports the operation and maintenance of existing and future offshore wind assets. You’ll deliver innovative solutions that reduce cost and risk, supporting EDF’s journey towards An Electric Britain through applied research and collaboration.
This is a 9-month fixed term contract based from our #London office. You’ll work within a highly skilled, international and multidisciplinary team, collaborating across the EDF Group, with occasional travel across the UK and France to support research activity and stakeholder engagement.

We’re looking for a Research Engineer who enjoys applied research, problem-solving, and collaboration in a technical environment. You’ll be comfortable working with data, models, and diverse stakeholders.
Essential Requirements
Engineering or scientific backgroundEngD / PhD level of education (or Master’s degree with relevant experience)Strong competency in data analysisCompetence in mathematical optimisationExperience coding in Python (a front-end framework would be a plus)Desirable Experience
Experience with CPLEX or other optimisation solversExtensive experience developing innovative solutions to engineering challengesBackground in managing a range of projects in industrial and research contextsExtensive knowledge of the power generation sectorExperience in offshore wind O&M or in a power industry O&M roleInternational professional work experienceKnowledge and Skills
