Job Summary
The Training Manager is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and continuously improving training solutions that support business performance, capability building, and compliance across the organization. The role partners with global and local stakeholders deliver high-quality learning experiences across classroom, virtual, blended, and digital formats. In line with evolving AbbVie expectations, this role also strengthens coaching excellence, integrates AI-enabled learning practices, and builds digital fluency and project management capability within the training function.
Job Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end design and development of training programs, ensuring alignment with business needs, compliance requirements, and organizational priorities.Conduct training needs analysis, job-task analysis, and learner profiling to identify capability gaps and define appropriate learning interventions.Design and deliver engaging learning solutions across multiple formats, including instructor-led training, virtual training, e-learning, blended learning, and on-demand digital modules.Moderate and/or facilitate training modules effectively, ensuring strong learner experience, clarity of content, and application of adult learning principles.Apply project management skills to plan, prioritize, track, and deliver training initiatives on time, within scope, and with high quality.Establish and oversee project workflows, learning timelines, deliverables, and dependency management for training programs and curriculum updates.Estimate, coordinate, and optimize resources needed to deliver training initiatives, including internal teams, vendors, and subject matter experts.Manage internal training implementation activities and support rollout of learning solutions across relevant business areas.Oversee vendor management for outsourced training development, facilitation, or production work, ensuring quality, compliance, and value creation.Define, monitor, and report training effectiveness metrics, including completion rates, learner feedback, compliance indicators, and learning impact measures.Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of training curricula and improve solutions based on feedback, analytics, business changes, and learner outcomes.Develop and maintain change management processes to ensure training content remains accurate, current, and sustainable.Support change management and communication activities related to system, process, or organizational changes, including onboarding, role transitions, enhancement rollouts, and stakeholder communication.Demonstrate coaching excellence by mentoring trainers, learning partners, and junior team members; building facilitation capability; and strengthening the overall training community.Manage and mentor junior-level training roles, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous development.Ensure learning solutions reflect AbbVie standards, global best practices, and local business requirements.Key Stakeholders

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutical science, or a related fieldRelevant experience in training, learning and development, curriculum design, or learning operations, preferably in a global or matrixed organizationExperience in designing and delivering training across classroom, virtual, blended, and digital learning environmentsStrong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and training evaluation methodsDemonstrated experience in project management, including planning, coordination, stakeholder management, and delivery trackingStrong ability to work across cultures, functions, and geographiesExperience using digital learning tools, learning platforms, and data/analytics to improve training outcomesExposure to AI-enabled learning approaches or willingness to build capability in AI applications for learning and developmentStrong communication, facilitation, and coaching skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environmentOther Elements
