We're looking for an enthusiastic, independent lunch chef for the Select Grand Café at the Louwman Museum. At this unique location, you'll combine your culinary experience with hospitality. Would you like to work with a close-knit team to prepare a delicious lunch? Then read on! All about the function As a lunch chef, you'll independently prepare lunch dishes and ensure they're served with attention to quality and presentation. Together with your colleagues in the kitchen and front-of-house, you'll provide lunch for museum visitors, business groups, and group reservations.
You'll prepare and maintain the mise-en-place, take and process orders, and work in accordance with HACCP guidelines. You'll also contribute ideas regarding the menu and kitchen procedures. You'll have a great deal of autonomy and work closely with the team. When orders come in, you prepare the dishes and coordinate with your colleagues on the floor. You pay close attention to flavor, quality, and presentation before a dish leaves the kitchen.
Even when multiple orders come in at once, you stay organized and work carefully. After lunch, you'll update the mise-en-place and make sure your workspace is clean and tidy. If you notice a way to streamline the preparation or execution, discuss it with your coworkers.
