Core responsibilities - Manage end-to-end payroll processing, including checks, calculations, and timely delivery.
- Advise HR, management, and employees on payroll topics, employment conditions, and payroll-related questions.
- Maintain and improve payroll procedures, controls, and documentation to ensure quality and compliance.
- Interpret and apply relevant laws and regulations (e.g., wage tax, social security, labor agreements/CAO where applicable).
- Prepare payroll reports, reconciliations, and audits; resolve discrepancies and incidents efficiently.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and external parties (e.g., tax authorities, pension providers, software vendors).
- Support system configuration, testing, and upgrades for payroll/HR systems; contribute to process automation.
- Coach or support junior payroll colleagues and share best practices.
Required skills and experience
- Payroll expertise: proven experience as a senior payroll specialist/advisor with strong analytical accuracy.
- Regulatory knowledge: solid understanding of Dutch payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
- Systems: experience with payroll/HRIS tools and advanced Excel/reporting skills.
