Site Operative (Caretaker)
Infinity Academies Trust is seeking to appoint an energetic, practical and motivated Site Operative to join our team, helping us to ensure our schools remain safe, welcoming and purposeful environments for children, staff and visitors.
This role offers the opportunity to supportthree schoolswithin the Trust:
Coleby CE Primary Academy - 12 Rectory Rd, Coleby, Lincoln LN5 0AJLeadenham CE Primary Academy - Main Rd, Leadenham, Lincoln LN5 0QBSt Peter’s at Eastgate CofE Infant School - Greetwell Gate, Lincoln LN2 4AWBecause the post covers multiple sites, a full driving licence and the ability to travel between locations is essential.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, cares about the appearance and safety of our schools, and reflects the high expectations we have of our pupils. Some IT skills are desirable; however, full training will be providedfor all systems, including our electronic health & safety compliance system, Every.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe role includes a wide range of duties relating to premises and grounds maintenance, security, Health & Safety, and day‑to‑day site operations, including line management of the cleaning team. Responsibilities include:
Site Security & SafetyEnsuring the security of buildings and groundsCarrying out daily internal and external site checksResponding to emergencies and assisting with general site enquiriesKeeping paths and walkways clear of snow and ice, including gritting when requiredMaintenance & RepairsProactively identifying and addressing minor maintenance issuesReporting major issues to the Operations TeamPerforming basic repairs, including:Carpentry: fitting boards, easing doors, small fencing repairsPlumbing: fixing leaks, unblocking toilets, maintaining drainsElectrical: replacing plug fuses, bulbs and light tubesGeneral: patch plastering, floor repairs, graffiti removal, replacing fixtures, minor glazing, path and surface repairsOperating heating systems to maintain appropriate temperatures and reporting any faultsCarrying out internal and external decoratingGrounds MaintenanceClearing litter, debris and fallen leavesEnsuring shrub areas, grass, courtyards and outdoor spaces are kept tidyBasic upkeep beyond the grounds maintenance contractCompliance & Record KeepingCompleting and supporting Risk AssessmentsUsingEvery to record PPM, compliance checks and defects (training provided)Maintaining COSHH-compliant chemical stores and ensuring COSHH documentation is accessibleOverseeing contractors and ensuring safe, compliant working practicesGeneral DutiesMoving furniture and equipment as requiredReceiving deliveries and ensuring correct storageMaintaining the cleanliness of signage, name boards, windows and the cycle canopyEnsuring safe storage and care of all equipment providedWhat We’re Looking ForWe would love to hear from you if you are:
