Carrfield Primary Academy is seeking a dedicated and passionate Catering Manager to lead our school kitchen and play a vital role in delivering high-quality, nutritious meals to our pupils.

About the RoleAs Catering Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the school kitchen, leading a small team to provide fresh, healthy meals that meet all required standards.

You will:

Lead and work alongside your team to prepare fresh, high-quality foodDeliver meals in line with a seasonal 3-week menu cycle, adapting menus in line with School Food Standards and allergen requirementsEnsure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion controlMaintain the highest standards of hygiene, health and safety, and cleanlinessTake ownership of ordering food and supplies, checking deliveries and managing invoicesMonitor food usage to minimise waste and make recommendations for improvementsPromote school meals through events such as taster days, themed menus, and parent engagement activitiesEnsure all kitchen staff are trained, supported, and working in line with policies and proceduresManage staffing levels, including arranging cover where required

You will have:

Experience in a similar catering or kitchen management roleProven ability to lead, support, and develop a teamStrong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlinesExcellent attention to detail and high standards of workA relevant Food Safety & Hygiene qualificationEvidence of ongoing professional development
