About this role
The Oak Partnership Trust is seeking a dedicated and proactive Premises Manager to join our team and play a key role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-functioning school environment.
As Premises Manager, you will be responsible for the maintenance, security, and cleanliness of the school site. You will ensure the premises are safe, compliant, and fit for purpose for pupils, staff, and the wider community.
Working closely with the Head Teacher and Trust Facilities Manager, you will oversee contractors, manage site operations, and lead on health & safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Site & Maintenance ManagementOversee day-to-day maintenance of the school site, including planned and reactive worksCoordinate and supervise contractors (cleaning, grounds, maintenance, waste, etc.)Carry out basic repairs, maintenance tasks, and small redecorationsEnsure the site remains clean, safe, tidy, and hazard-freeAct as key holder and respond to out-of-hours/emergency situationsMaintain systems including heating, lighting, security, alarms, CCTV, and access systemsManage site inspections and proactively address defectsSupport safe access and movement around the school siteAssist with furniture setup for school events and activitiesManage school vehicles and site-related assetsHealth & Safety & ComplianceUphold and implement Trust Health & Safety policiesCarry out regular compliance checks and inspectionsMaintain health & safety records, risk assessments, and compliance documentationEnsure adherence to regulations including COSHH, fire safety, asbestos, and legionellaSupport fire safety planning and emergency proceduresReport and monitor health & safety issues with leadership teamsAdministration
Manage maintenance schedules and budgets cost-effectivelyLiaise with the Trust Facilities and Finance teams on procurement and invoicingMaintain accurate records, stock, and asset registersSupport lettings and extended services on siteAbout You
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience in site supervision, facilities, or building maintenanceHas hands-on skills in general maintenance, plumbing, electrical, or similar tradesHas a strong understanding of health & safety regulationsIs highly organised and able to prioritise workloads independentlyHas excellent communicationIs proactive, flexible, and takes pride in maintaining a safe environmentIs confident using IT systems (e.g., Word, Excel)Holds a full driving licenceIs willing to undertake further training as requiredDesirable
Experience working in a school or education environmentFirst aid or health & safety qualificationsSalary: Grade 13 point 6
Hours of work: 37 hours per week. Term time, Plus 4 weeks
