About this role

Position: Manager, Facilities Job Summary The Facilities Manager will lead facilities strategy, engineering, operations, and maintenance for our new flagship manufacturing site in Thailand. As production begins, this role will establish the organization, operating model, systems, and standards needed to deliver safe, reliable, efficient manufacturing at scale. This is a high-impact leadership role with broad autonomy. The successful candidate will build a facilities team from the ground up, direct major infrastructure and utility projects, transition systems from commissioning into stable operations, and partner with site leadership and cross-functional teams to support production ramp-up and long-term growth. The position reports to the APAC Manufacturing Facilities Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the site facilities strategy and operating model, aligning infrastructure capacity, reliability, service levels, and investment priorities with production ramp-up and business growth.
  • Build and lead the facilities organization from inception, including organization design, recruitment, onboarding, technical training, succession planning, and development of a safety-focused, high-performance culture.
  • Lead operational readiness and the transition from construction to stable operations, including commissioning support, system acceptance, documentation, spare-parts strategy, maintenance readiness, and asset handover.
  • Direct the design, installation, expansion, and lifecycle management of buildings and critical utilities, including HVAC, electrical distribution, backup power, mechanical systems, compressed air, water and wastewater, life-safety systems, and building controls.
  • Establish preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs supported by asset criticality, disciplined work management, technical standards, performance analytics, and root-cause problem solving.
  • Develop business continuity, emergency response, utility-recovery, and infrastructure-resilience plans that protect employees, assets, product, and production continuity.
  • Ensure compliance with Thai laws, permits, building codes, environmental requirements, company standards, and EHS expectations; maintain audit readiness and timely closure of findings.
  • Own operating and capital budgets, multi-year investment plans, utility forecasts, contracts, and business cases while protecting safety, quality, compliance, and reliability.
  • Select and govern contractors and service providers across maintenance, security, janitorial, waste, landscaping, utilities, and specialist technical services.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Engineering, EHS, Quality, Finance, Procurement, IT, Security, and site leadership to deliver scalable solutions and measurable performance across uptime, maintenance, energy, water, service, projects, and cost.
  • Champion continuous improvement, sustainability, resource efficiency, and disciplined decision-making in a fast-changing startup environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Facilities, or a related engineering discipline; an advanced degree or relevant professional certification is advantageous.
  • 15+ years of progressive facilities leadership in complex, utility-intensive manufacturing - ideally electronics, semiconductor, or advanced manufacturing - with demonstrated scope and achievement at a comparable level.
  • Proven success in greenfield, factory-startup, major expansion, commissioning, or production-ramp environments, including transition from project delivery to stable operations.
  • Deep technical knowledge of manufacturing infrastructure and critical utilities, with sound judgment in design, capacity, reliability, risk, and lifecycle investment decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to build teams and operating systems from inception and lead complex capital programs, contractors, budgets, contracts, and service-provider relationships.
  • Strong command of EHS management systems, regulatory compliance, permitting, emergency preparedness, business continuity, and risk-based asset management.
  • Executive presence and communication skills to influence site leaders, technical teams, production stakeholders, regulators, and external partners.
  • A hands-on, decisive, and adaptable leadership style, equally effective in long-range strategy, technical review, people development, and urgent operational response.
  • Professional proficiency in English is required; Thai-language capability and experience in Thailand or the broader Asia-Pacific region are highly valued.
