Mercure Tauranga is looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable Guest Service Agent to join our team in a unique dual role across Reception and Food & Beverage.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys delivering memorable guest experiences, working in a supportive team and developing their skills across different areas of hotel operations.
About the Role
Working across both Reception and Food & Beverage, you will help ensure our guests receive a warm welcome and professional service throughout their stay.
Your responsibilities will include
- Welcoming guests and assisting with check-ins, check-outs, reservations and enquiries.
- Processing guest payments and maintaining accurate booking information.
- Providing local recommendations and promoting hotel services.
- Delivering friendly and efficient restaurant, breakfast and bar service.
- Taking orders, serving food and beverages, and assisting with conference and event catering.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and guest satisfaction.
- Supporting colleagues across departments during busy periods.
What We're Looking For
- Previous hospitality or customer service experience, ideally in a hotel, restaurant or café.
- A genuine passion for guest service and creating positive experiences.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional approach.
- Reliability, flexibility and the ability to multitask.
- Good attention to detail and confidence using computers.
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn and strong team spirit.
- Availability to work a flexible roster, including weekends and public holidays.
Previous experience with hotel reception systems, particularly OPERA Cloud, and an LCQ qualification would be advantageous, but training will be provided.
