Responsibilities
- Set up and operate press brake machines, ensuring accurate bending of sheet metal according to technical drawings and specifications
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math to determine proper machine setup and operation procedures
- Use measuring instruments and precision measurement tools to verify dimensions and quality of finished parts
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments on forming machines to optimize performance
- Follow safety protocols diligently, including proper use of hand tools, measuring devices, and safety equipment during machine operation
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the production process to ensure adherence to specifications and standards
Requirements
- Proven experience operating press brake machines in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately
- Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges for quality control purposes
- Knowledge of shop math, basic math skills, and safety standards in production environments
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to set up machining tools and perform precision measurement in machining processes
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to machine operation and manufacturing practices
- Mechanical blueprint interpretation skills essential for accurate setup and production workflows
- Experience with welding, forming machines, sheet metal fabrication, and the use of hand tools is a plus
