About this role
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the hotel's accounting operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls. This position plays a key role in supporting the Director of Finance and Assistant Director of Finance by providing financial analysis, operational insights, and recommendations that contribute to the hotel's overall financial performance.
The Accounting Manager leads and develops the accounting team, oversees essential financial processes, and works closely with various hotel departments to promote financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and compliance with Hilton standards and applicable local regulations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Operations & Reporting
- Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing.
- Review financial entries and ensure accurate, timely financial statements and management reports.
- Analyze financial results, variances, and trends, providing recommendations to Finance leadership.
2. Accounts Payable, Payroll & Revenue Controls
- Supervise Accounts Payable, payroll accounting, and revenue audit operations.
- Ensure accurate processing, proper documentation, and compliance with company policies and local regulations.
- Maintain effective internal controls over cash, payroll, revenue, and expenses.
3. Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Support budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Monitor departmental performance, analyze costs, and provide financial insights to support business decisions.
4. Compliance, Audit & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with Hilton standards, accounting policies, and local regulations.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and implement corrective actions.
- Safeguard hotel assets through effective financial controls.
5. Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team.
- Establish performance objectives and promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.
6. Process Improvement & Systems
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, efficiency, and automation.
- Support financial system improvements, implementations, and reporting tools.
7. Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in special projects, financial analyses, and corporate initiatives.
- Maintain accurate financial records and perform other related duties as assigned by Finance leadership.

Required Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality Management, or a related business discipline.
Professional Experience
- Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Previous managerial or supervisory experience, preferably within the hospitality or hotel industry.
- Experience overseeing accounting operations and leading a team.
Technical Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal control procedures.
- Experience with hotel accounting systems and ERP platforms.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with operational departments, Finance leadership, and corporate stakeholders.
Languages
- Fluency in English is required.
- Knowledge of Dutch, Spanish, and Papiamento is considered an advantage.
