About this role
The Terrace on 10 Bartender ensures the bar and service stations are impeccably set, maintains par levels and product quality, prepares espresso drinks and cocktails to recipe and standard, and completes accurate POS transactions and cash handling. You protect the serene, adults‑only ambiance, support access‑control standards, and uphold Hilton, Aruba health regulations, HACCP, and responsible alcohol service requirements at all times.
Position Summary
As a key member of the Terrace on 10 team, the Terrace on 10 Bartender is responsible for maintaining a fully stocked and organized bar, preparing signature and classic cocktails, crafting premium coffee beverages, and processing transactions accurately. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent hospitality skills, and a proactive approach to guest service.
Essential Functions
- Prepare and serve signature cocktails, seasonal beverages, wines, beers, spirits, zero-proof drinks, and specialty coffees according to Hilton standards.
- Complete daily bar setup, opening, and closing procedures, including stocking, garnish preparation, requisitions, and equipment checks.
- Maintain recipe consistency, portion control, beverage quality, and proper food safety and sanitation standards.
- Deliver personalized guest service by recommending beverages, promoting offerings, and creating memorable experiences.
- Enforce adults-only access requirements and coordinate guest access and capacity with the Host & Reservations Liaison.
- Monitor responsible alcohol service, verify identification, and handle guest concerns professionally.
- Coordinate beverage service and pairings with Culinary for breakfast and sunset receptions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, storage, equipment, and service areas.
- Process POS transactions accurately and follow cash-handling procedures.
- Conduct inventory counts, maintain stock levels, rotate products, and minimize waste.
- Maintain the appropriate rooftop ambiance, including music, lighting, and overall presentation.
- Communicate effectively with the team, attend briefings and training, and contribute to beverage promotions and special events.
Supportive Functions
- Assist with barback and beverage service duties as needed.
- Support VIP amenities, media visits, and corporate or ownership visits.
- Follow safety procedures and storm or high-wind protocols for rooftop operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of Terrace on 10.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent communication and guest service skills, with the ability to handle guest concerns professionally and remain calm under pressure.
- Education: Secondary Vocational Education (Educacion Profesional Intermedio) or equivalent.
- Certifications: Valid Health Card (Green Card), Bartender Certification, and Aruba Certification Program.
- Experience: 3–5 years of relevant bartending experience.
- Proficiency in POS systems, cash handling, bar equipment, blenders, and espresso machines.
- Languages: Fluency in English required; knowledge of Papiamento, Dutch, and Spanish preferred.
