Welder - El Cajon, CA - Career Opportunity Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Welder to perform TIG and MIG welding on assemblies. This role involves assisting with fit-up and fabrication tasks, reading blueprints, and operating hand grinders. The position is located on-site in El Cajon, CA and requires working four days a week.

Responsibilities

• Apply TIG/MIG welds on assemblies.
• Assist with fit-up and fabrication according to drawings.
• Operate hand grinders.
• Weld exotic materials, including alloys, inconel, and 300/400 series stainless steel.
• Weld different thicknesses of materials, such as .032, .060, .090, .0188.
• Conduct welding using back gaps.
• Set up weld machines, including amperage and weld symbols.
• Document work, including type of rod used and type of weld.
• Identify materials and set them on traveler.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in TIG and MIG welding.
• Experience with fixture usage.
• Knowledge of GTAW and GMAW processes.
• Familiarity with aerospace welding standards.
• Understanding of AWS D9.1 and AWS D1.6.
• Ability to work with stainless steel and inconel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ownership of a welding hood.
• Willingness to work on assigned jobs inside and outside the welding field.
• Ability to fabricate parts under supervision.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of El Cajon, CA.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
