Job Title: General Laborer Washing and Sorting StationJob DescriptionThis role focuses on cleaning, sorting, and performing basic restoration on equipment and scaffolding system components that are returned from job sites. You work in a washing station within a production area, ensuring all items are properly cleaned, organized, and ready for reuse, with all bolts and hardware accounted for.

Responsibilities

• Clean and wash equipment and scaffolding components in the designated washing station.
• Sort returned materials and components to ensure they are organized and ready for future use.
• Perform basic restoration and minor repairs on equipment and scaffolding system components as needed.
• Inspect items to ensure all bolts, hardware, and parts are present and in good condition.
• Handle heavy lifting of materials and equipment, including items up to approximately 50 lbs.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area in the production and yard spaces.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines during cleaning, sorting, and lifting activities.
• Participate in safety training and apply proper handling techniques for tools, equipment, and materials.
• Shadow experienced workers on the first day to learn processes, workflows, and safety practices.
• Work reliably and consistently throughout the shift to meet production and cleaning targets.

Essential Skills

• Previous general labor experience in a physical, hands-on work environment.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting, including handling items up to approximately 50 lbs.
• Experience working in a yard or similar outdoor or semi-outdoor work setting.
• Comfort working in a production environment with repetitive physical tasks.
• Reliability and strong work ethic, including consistent attendance and punctuality.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience handling building supplies or construction-related materials.
• Previous machine or equipment operation experience in a production or yard environment.
• Familiarity with cleaning processes for industrial or construction equipment.
• Attention to detail when sorting materials and verifying hardware and components.

Work EnvironmentYou work in a production area within a washbox station where equipment and scaffolding components are cleaned and sorted. The role is very physical, and you can expect to get wet and dirty as part of your daily tasks. The environment involves handling heavy materials and working around industrial cleaning processes. Standard shift hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Friday from 7:00 AM to 1:30 PM. Safety training is provided on the first day, and you start by shadowing experienced workers to learn procedures and best practices.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Calgary, AB.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.75 - $18.75/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
