Your Contribution

As Superintendent, Technical Services, you will provide leadership for mine planning, scheduling and engineering execution at Red Chris as the underground operation advances through development, construction, commissioning and production ramp-up.

You will lead integrated planning across shift, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual and life-of-mine horizons. By connecting mining, construction, infrastructure and operational readiness priorities, you will help turn complex technical requirements into practical and executable plans.

This role offers the opportunity to build Technical Services capability, establish effective planning systems and influence the long-term performance of a major Canadian block cave operation.

As part of our team, you will

Lead integrated short, medium and long-range mine planning and scheduling, ensuring alignment between project milestones, underground development and future operating requirements.

Develop and oversee mine designs, drill and blast plans, development sequencing, mass excavation sequencing, forecasts and schedules.

Establish planning standards, governance, management operating systems and decision-making forums that promote disciplined execution and clear accountability.

Integrate mining, construction, infrastructure, commissioning and operational readiness schedules, with clear visibility of interfaces, priorities and critical-path activities.

Monitor key assumptions and constraints, including fleet productivity, workforce and equipment availability, ventilation capacity, development rates and infrastructure readiness.

Lead plan-versus-actual reviews, reconciliation and variance analysis to improve forecast accuracy, schedule reliability and operational performance.

Identify technical and operational risks early, assess their impact and coordinate practical mitigation measures.

Provide clear technical reports, analyses and recommendations to the Manager, Technical Services and other project and operational leaders.

Partner closely with Underground Operations, Projects and Construction, Survey, Ventilation, Geotechnical Engineering, Infrastructure, Health and Safety, Finance and senior project leadership.

Lead, coach and develop a multidisciplinary Technical Services team, creating an inclusive environment where people can contribute, collaborate and grow.

Allocate work, review team performance and provide timely feedback while strengthening capability, succession and workforce readiness.

Drive continuous improvement in mine planning practices, technical assurance, quality control and execution readiness.

Provide leadership coverage for the Manager, Technical Services when required.

Proven leadership experience within a large, technically complex underground mining or mine-development environment.

Experience establishing integrated planning processes, governance, standards or management operating systems.

Advanced proficiency with Deswik and scheduling software, supported by practical experience with mine-design and underground technical systems.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to recognize patterns, challenge assumptions and make sound decisions using complex technical information.

Demonstrated ability to communicate technical risks, constraints and opportunities clearly to operational and senior leadership audiences.

A collaborative and adaptable leadership style, with the ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on operational support.

A strong commitment to safe work, environmental responsibility, technical quality and continuous improvement

Your Work Environment

Based at Red Chris in British Columbia, this is a permanent, non-union leadership position supporting a major underground block cave development. The proposed work arrangement is a 15 days on / 13 days off hybrid roster, subject to review.

You will work in a complex, multidisciplinary project and operating environment. The role requires close collaboration across underground mining, projects, construction, technical disciplines, operational readiness and site leadership.

As Red Chris transitions from underground development into block cave construction, commissioning and production ramp-up, the focus of the role will evolve from establishing planning systems and technical governance to optimizing production sequencing, schedule performance and operational outcomes.
