Job summary
We are seeking an experienced Prescription Administrator to join our busy and friendly team, delivering a high-quality service to patients. The successful candidate will work 24 hours per week over 3 days, predominantly based at our Brough and South Cave surgeries. The willingness to work our other surgeries on occasion is essential.
The ideal candidate will have experience delivering an efficient and courteous service while maintaining professionalism and discretion at all times. You should be able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Strong communication skills and a keen attention to detail are essential, along with the flexibility to provide cover during periods of annual leave or sickness.

Main duties of the job
You will need to be a good communicator with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, especially under pressure. You will have a range of patient facing and administrative tasks, so excellent organisational skills and time management are critical. A caring, empathetic character is also essential.
Your main duties include providing a repeat prescription service via telephone, email, SystmOne and repeat slips, responding to medication requests from patients, hospitals and pharmacies and maintaining good communications with other members of the Practice to maximise benefits to patients.

To provide an efficient and courteous service to all patients, whilst working within the Standard Operating Procedures as set out by the Practice.
Providing a repeat prescription service to patients which involves taking requests by telephone, email, SystmOne and repeat slips.Responding to medication queries in a professional manner, referring to the appropriate GP / pharmacist as needed. This may include adding to and/or amending a patients SystmOne medication record as advised by the appropriate clinician.Maintaining good communications with other members of the Practice in order to maximise benefits to patients, and support colleagues within the parameters of your role.Providing cover for holidays and sickness to ensure continuation of the dispensing service at all sites within the Practice.Attending dispensary meetings whenever possible. Ensuring that Significant Events and Near Misses are reported and made available to be discussed at the meetings.Taking part in an annual Performance and Development review as required by the Practice.Working within the Practice guidelines and Dispensary Standard Operating Procedures at all times.
