Job summary
We are currently seeking a committed 6-session fixed-term salaried GP to join our team at Tonbridge Medical Group (TMG). Days of work to be confirmed.
Job SummaryThis role provides clinical and administrative support for patients on your list, including NHS contractual work (QOF, DES, LES, and LIS).
You will also undertake Improved Access (IA) sessions by agreement, with some sessions potentially during normal working hours due to upcoming changes.
The role includes 18 duty days per year, spread across the week and aligned with usual PM working days.
Administration & Workflow CoverYou will be responsible for Docman and workflow management, including covering annual and sick leave. Cover is based on sessional commitment (e.g. a 6-session GP requires equivalent workflow/Docman cover across AL and SL periods).
Docman and workflow cover are provided separately, equating to approximately 14 weeks cover in total.
Session StructureA standard session is 4 hours 10 minutes (250 minutes):
clinical time (187.5 minutes)
admin time (62.5 minutes)
Clinical time is adjusted for meetings and visits, resulting in approximately 162.5 minutes per session.
On duty days, an additional 30 minutes is allocated in the morning to support duty doctor preparation.
Main duties of the job
A typical Salaried GP clinic set up is 10 patients x 10 mins and 4 patients x 15 mins, which is a total of 14 appointments.Our admin team screens our Docman, reducing the number of documents that the GP needs to review.We have robust systems in place to ensure the workload is well controlled for our duty doctor. Our weekly clinical meetings and daily coffee breaks provide an opportunity for Doctors to discuss cases and share clinical knowledge, furthering our professional development.
In addition, TMG is part of the Tonbridge Primary Care Network (PCN) and is supported by a fantastic PCN team.One of the services our PCN provides is a visiting team to take on some of the home visits for our patients.

As a training practice, we have 7 partners, 7 salaried GPs, GP registrars, a physician associate, clinical pharmacists, nurses, healthcare assistants, a phlebotomist, and exceptional admin and care navigation teams.

Improved Access: 6 Saturdays / year or equivalent of IA mutual agreement. With the changes coming in to IA some of these hours can be done in working hours.
Duties: 18 duties/ year/ spread over the week, on usual PM days
Cover: AL/SL cover of docman and workflow to match the cover you need depending on your sessions. i.e. a 6 session doctor needs 6 sessions of w/f and docman over 6 weeks A/L and 1 week S/L.
Note: docman and workflow cover will not be given at the same time so equivalent of 14 weeks cover.
Session definition:
4 hr 10 mins per session = 250 mins per session
Each session to be divided into:
clinical time (187.5 mins)
admin time (62.5 mins)
Clinical time for 6 clinical sessions/week: 1,125mins
Minus:
60 minutes for clinical meeting (30 mins/ week average, as week not working on Monday you will not attend)
3 x 30 minutes for 3 visits per week
Clinical time remaining: 975 minutes / 1,005 mins
Clinical time per sessions = 162.5 minutes per session / 167.5 mins
On duty days, extra 30 mins blocked in AM to allow DD to start appropriately.

Qualifications Essential
(GMC) GP Register minimum of three years of specialty training on a GMC-approved program, passing the Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP) exam, and gaining a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).
