Job summary
The Head of Estates Development and Projects leads the Organisation's Estates Management service, driving the successful delivery of the Estate Strategy programme through strategic project management and high-quality service outcomes. This role is pivotal in shaping and transforming the built environment to support organisational priorities and enhance patient experience.
The Head of Estates Development and Projects leads the Organisation's Estates Management service and is responsible for driving the implementation of the Organisation's Estate Strategy programme through effective project management and delivery of key service objectives.
This role works in close partnership with the Associate Director of Estates and Environmental to shape and review strategy, policy and commissions, while overseeing both major and minor development schemes. The post holder provides leadership to the Estates and Facilities team, ensuring high-quality service delivery across the entire organisation on behalf of patients, underpinned by expert knowledge of the built environment. Acting as Sirona's specialist in estate development projects and estate management, the post holder offers authoritative advice and direction in this field.
Working collaboratively with Environmental leads, the role supports the Associate Director of Estates and Environmental in advancing the organisation's decarbonisation objectives.
Main duties of the job
Managing the Estates portfolio of complex projects associated with the effective delivery of the organisation's objectives as delegated by the Associate Direct of Estates and Environmental. Leading the development, planning and delivery of an effective operational Estate and Facilities Service function for Sirona Develop long term strategies for the Estate, reflecting on the clinical and operational strategies, cost improvements and service rationalisation Manage the departmental spend within budget, delivering required savings Responsible for the design and costing elements of Strategic Outline Cases Manage all property lease negotiations and disposals and provide professional advice on matters relating to property

Qualifications and Training Essential
Estates related qualification Project Management qualification, e.g. PRINCE2 certification Educated to Post Graduate Diploma level or equivalent in a building/engineering or built environment related subject
Desirable
Chartered Member of a relevant professional body or working towards registration.
Skills, Experience and Knowledge Essential
Experience of multidisciplinary project management of property improvement schemes including capital planning and capital procurement processes from inception to completion Delivering construction/improvement projects in highly complex healthcare settings and environments Experience of negotiations with supplier organisations Considerable experience of negotiation and liaison with clinical and non-clinical staff

Experience of working in Health Service delivery
