About this role
We have a permanent full-time Caretaker 2 position available at Canwood Public School starting November 16, 2026, or as mutually agreed upon. 8 hours per day / 40 hours per week (Weekdays/day shift)
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE
- POSITION:Grade 12 or equivalent.A valid Firemans Certificate would be considered an asset.A minimum of one year of related experience in commercial or institutional custodial services, building operations or facility maintenance.
- Experience providing work direction, training or supervision to employees would be considered an asset.An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Related post-secondary education or training in custodial services, building operations, facility maintenance, occupational health and safety, HVAC systems, power engineering or a recognized building trade would be considered an asset.A valid drivers licence.W.H.M.I.S. and First Aid/CPR certification.
- Must successfully complete all required Division training following appointment.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in standard cleaning practices and procedures including the use of custodial equipment and products and the safe handling and storage of chemical-based cleaning agents.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in building maintenance and basic repair practices and procedures including the use of related equipment and tools.
