About this role
? Ensure all animals have access to feed and water
? Handle and move animals as needed
? Perform production tasks including heat checking, breeding, farrowing, piglet processing, weaning and vaccinating
? Perform regular health checks to recognize and treat livestock health problems
? Administer medications as needed
- Record various information to maintain livestock production records
- Monitor the barn environment and make adjustments to systems as required
? Perform general barn maintenance including pressure washing, disinfecting pens and other housekeeping activities
? Perform minor equipment maintenance & repairs
- Follow all biosecurity procedures
Requirements for Application
- Desire to keep the animals and the barn in excellent condition
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to read, write and speak English
Ideal Candidate
- Experience working with livestock
- Flexible availability ? weekend work is required
- Self-motivated
- Valid drivers? license and reliable transportation
Compensation
- $19-26, depending on experience
