About this role
Job summary
We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and committed GP, to join our team Part Time with four sessions per week. We are a well-established, friendly and supportive GP practice based in the pleasant residential area of Shirley, Croydon, serving a patient population of approximately 5,000. We pride ourselves on being a close-knit team where everyone is valued and where good working relationships, mutual support and a positive working environment are at the heart of what we do.
Our clinical and administrative teams work closely together to provide high-quality, patient-centred care. We encourage open communication, teamwork and a collaborative approach, ensuring our GPs feel supported and are able to focus on delivering the best possible care to our patients.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, is approachable and patient-focused, and is keen to contribute to the continued development of the practice. We welcome GPs who are enthusiastic about general practice and who value building relationships with patients and colleagues.
This is a great opportunity to join a supportive practice with a manageable list size, a dedicated team and a welcoming working environment, while maintaining a good work-life balance through a part-time role.
Main duties of the job
The role involves providing high-quality, patient-centred general medical services, including assessing and managing acute and chronic conditions, undertaking consultations, prescribing and arranging appropriate investigations and referrals. The GP will work collaboratively with the wider clinical and administrative team, contribute to continuity of care and support the delivery of safe and effective services to our patient population.
About us
Our clinical team consists of two GP partners, two Salaried GPs, a Clinical Pharmacist, a Practice Nurse and two Healthcare Assistants. We are also supported by a wider multidisciplinary team through ARRS roles, including First Contact Physiotherapists, Social Prescribers, a Pharmacy Technician and a Paramedic who undertakes most of our home visits. Alongside them, we have a dedicated non-clinical team who provide essential support across all areas of practice operations. We believe in making the most of everyone's skills and working collaboratively across different roles. Our approach is practical and team-focused, with an emphasis on sharing knowledge, supporting one another and making day-to-day working as smooth as possible.
We offer an environment where clinicians can benefit from the support of a wider multidisciplinary team rather than working in isolation. We value flexibility, approachability and a healthy work-life balance, and aim to make Hartland Way Surgery a place where people enjoy coming to work.
