Main duties of the job
The Paediatric Oncology Service is part of the wider Haemato-Oncology Service at Sheffield Children's Hospital. It provides a tertiary service for South Yorkshire and North East Lincolnshire and includes a regional paediatric autologous stem cell transplant programme which also covers Nottinghamshire and the East Midlands. Patients with solid tumours are cared for by a team of four consultants.
You will work as part of the multidisciplinary Haemato-Oncology team, contributing to the assessment, treatment and ongoing management of children and young people with haematological and oncological conditions, while supporting the delivery of high-quality care across inpatient, outpatient and day-case settings.
You will gain experience within a specialist tertiary service, including exposure to stem cell transplant programmes and the management of both malignant and non-malignant conditions.
