About this role

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our growing Podiatry Service within NHFT Specialist & Secured Services.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced podiatrist to join our friendly and supportive team, providing high-quality podiatry care across our East Midlands prison healthcare services: HMP Lincon, HMP Morton Hall and HMP North Sea Camp.

This is a varied and rewarding role offering the opportunity to work autonomously with a diverse patient population, providing specialist assessment, diagnosis and treatment for a broad range of lower limb and foot conditions. You will work closely with colleagues across the wider multidisciplinary healthcare team, contributing to safe, effective and patient-centred care within a secure environment.

You will be supported by an established podiatry team with access to clinical support, supervision and opportunities for continued professional development.

Main duties of the job

As part of this role, you will:

o provide specialist podiatric assessment, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management;o manage a varied caseload, including patients with diabetes, vascular and neurological conditions and other complex foot-health needs;o work autonomously while remaining well connected to the wider Podiatry and multidisciplinary teams;o contribute to clinical governance, service development, audit and quality improvement;o support education and learning within the service; ando help shape and develop podiatry provision across our expanding Specialist & Secured Services.

Working within a prison healthcare environment provides a unique opportunity to support people who may previously have experienced difficulties accessing healthcare. Building trust, promoting engagement and involving patients in decisions about their care are important parts of our approach.

We are looking for someone who is approachable, motivated and adaptable, with strong clinical reasoning and communication skills and a genuine commitment to providing high-quality, person-centred, equitable care.
