We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Support Worker to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Leeds, a busy category B prison located in Leeds Centre.
This is a fantastic opportunity start or continue your career in Pharmacy and Healthcare - no previous experience is necessary, and we will support you with lots of training and development opportunities. No two days are the same in this challenging, yet rewarding environment! Hours
This is a full time role, working an average of 37.5 hours per week / 10 shifts per 2 weeks. The team work on a 2 week rota, with alternate weekends. Usually, you will work one long shift per 2 weeks - 7am - 9pm. Weekend shifts are 8am - 4pm. Other shifts are Monday to Friday - 7am - 4pm or 11am to 9pm. Salary

Main duties of the job
As our new Pharmacy Support Worker, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
Support the onsite Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacy Manager, as well as the wider healthcare team Work from the dispensaries on the wings Spot checks with patients on the wings - checking medication volumes in cells Second check medication before dispensing to patients on medication rounds Contribute to services such as medicine reconciliation, managing stock medicines and transportation of medicines Provide support to ensure a safe and secure medicines management service, following policies, procedures and standard operating procedures Be a key member of a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals - primary care, substance misuse and mental health If you are interested in career development, we have a wide range of opportunities for you to develop your skills and experience, which include both internal and external options for development and learning.

Our new Pharmacy Support Worker will have: No experience is necessary - we are looking for someone with a keen interest in Pharmacy, and keen to pursue a career in Pharmacy and Healthcare within a prison An NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Dispensing would be a bonus, but isn't essential Ideally have medicines handling experience, although not essential Have a proactive approach, with excellent communication skills Secure environments are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work.
