Job summary
The Dermatology Unit provides a variety of Dermatology services including management of acute dermatological cases and emergencies. We assist in the running of clinics for adult/paediatric dermatology including biologics, skin surgery and skin cancer, immunology and vulval clinics and patch testing service. We are responsible for a busy dermatology treatment unit offering inpatient and outpatient advice, phototherapy, topical therapies and wound care management.
The team have a fantastic reputation within the Trust, holding 'Silver Accreditation' status; providing excellent care at every level. We pride ourselves in our friendliness and the ability to function efficiently as a team, being supportive and inclusive. This post is 37.5 hour per week, permanent contract over 5 days (variable shifts Monday - Friday) shifts times ranging between 7:30 - 18:00

Main duties of the job
To assist with patient care and other department related duties working closely with the Outpatient Nurses, Doctors and Administration team.
To carry out routine and additional/extended role duties, when trained and assessed as competent as instructed by and under of the registered nurses.
To contribute to a team approach to patient care in conjunction with nursing colleagues and all members of the multi-disciplinary team, and work in accordance with the Trust values and hospital policies at all times.

Qualifications and training Essential
oCompleted Care Certificate or we will support you to complete it within 3 months of joining. oLiteracy and Numeracy level 2 or equivalent (GCSE D-G) oBasic IT skills oKnowledge and skills gained through any combination of alternative study and/or employment experience
Desirable
oLevel 2 and/or 3 qualification in Health and Social Care/Clinical Care or working towards an award oCompletion of a Secure English Language Test (SELT) if English is not your first language
Experience Essential
oExperience in a public facing/customer care role or environment oAble to work in a team environment oAble to use initiative within the boundaries of the role oGood communication, observational and organisational skills
Desirable
oExperience working in a health/health and social care role oNHS experience / understanding of NHS/social care systems oExperience in an outpatient setting oDermatology experience
