JOB SUMMARY
Performs clerical duties on the assigned unit. Assists in the maintenance of a clean and safe environment, assists the patient care team to provide various patient care activities. Maintains customer service focus essential for smooth unit operation.
Work Experience
Work Orientation &Experience
One (1) year of experience as a medical and/or customer service secretary preferred.
The incumbent may require 2-3 weeks of detailed job orientation and training to perform essential job functions with a mentor and/or educator.
Skills & Abilities
Ability to:
- a) manual finger dexterity with hand-eye coordination,
- b) basic computer skills and typing,
- c) convey effective verbal and written communications;
- d) follow directions;
- e) organize and manage decisions consistent with current policies, procedures and nursing standards;
- f) adapt hours of availability to variable and changing needs of the hospital, including all shifts;
- g) effectively function as a member of a collaborative team;
- h) respond to emergency situations appropriately.
Benefits
16 hours per month; 8 of those hours must fall on a weekend
Pay Range: $17.68 - 24.76/hr. (depends on years of experience)
