Cabling Technician

Location: Sandston, VA

Job Description

We are looking for a Cabling Technician to support low-voltage and Distributed Antenna System (DAS) installation work within a large, active data center environment in Sandston, VA. This is a hands-on role focused on installing, routing, supporting, and maintaining cabling infrastructure throughout the facility. The ideal candidate has experience working in structured cabling, low-voltage, telecommunications, electrical, or construction environments and is comfortable working around active infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Install, route, pull, dress, and secure low-voltage cabling throughout the data center.
• Support cabling installations associated with DAS and other low-voltage systems.
• Install cable pathways, supports, and related infrastructure as needed.
• Perform cable terminations, labeling, and basic testing according to project requirements.
• Read and follow floor plans, cable routes, installation drawings, and work instructions.
• Maintain proper cable management and organization within racks, pathways, and telecommunications spaces.
• Work safely around active data center equipment and live infrastructure.
• Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and lifts to complete installation work.
• Follow site safety, quality, and data center security procedures.
• Coordinate with technicians, leads, and other trades to complete assigned work.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with structured cabling, low-voltage systems, telecommunications, electrical work, or construction preferred.
• Experience pulling and installing copper, coax, or fiber-optic cabling is a plus.
• DAS experience is preferred but not required.
• Comfortable working in a large, active data center environment.
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to work from ladders or lifts and perform physically demanding installation work.
• Strong attention to safety, cable management, and quality.
• Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a field installation team.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sandston, VA.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
