Job Title: Structural Welder - $32-$34/hr - per diem $181/day 7 days/weekJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Structural Welder with expertise in NAVSEA standards, fitting, brazing, and experience in a Naval shipyard environment. The candidate must have over five years of experience, possess standard welding tools, and be adept at working different shifts.
Responsibilities
- Weld assembly plating as specified by NASSCO and Navy Standards.
- Weld fabricated cast or forged components according to specifications with knowledge of welding characteristics of metal.
- Weld parts in position for fabrication of vessels, tanks, or other structural assemblies.
- Use carbon electrodes to cut, shape, and groove metal.
- Must pass HY-80 Pipe Test 6G (SMAW), Flux-core HY 80 test, and Aluminum Plate test.
- Tack weld (SMAW) and safely hook up and operate a torch.
Essential Skills
- Five plus years of experience in welding.
- Good knowledge of shipboard spaces and weld symbols.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of Work Authorization Forms (WAFs).
- Ability to follow instructions and collaborate effectively with others.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience as a Pipefitter.
- Experience in a shipyard setting.
- Knowledge of Navy welding standards.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
