In addition to expert machining, you will guide and mentor apprentice and mid-level machinists, ensuring high standards in quality, safety, and technical excellence.
The role is based in a precision machining and aerospace repair facility focused on flight-critical jet engine components. You will work daily with CNC lathes and turning centers, mills, drill presses, grinding equipment, and a range of precision inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and bore gauges. The environment follows FAA/EASA Repair Station safety, quality, and operational standards, with structured procedures and rigorous inspection processes.
Responsibilities
- Set up, program, adjust, and operate manual and CNC machining equipment with a primary focus on CNC lathes and turning centers and a secondary focus on milling machines.
- Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs, including G-code, to produce precision components using Fanuc controls and Clausing CNC lathes.
- Apply strong SolidWorks skills to interpret and work from CAD models, engineering drawings, and product layouts for accurate part production.
- Grind and machine high-strength steels, superalloys, and aeronautical materials to close tolerances in line with engineering specifications and aerospace industry standards.
- Read, analyze, and implement complex engineering blueprints, technical manuals, and product layouts to plan machining operations and verify feasibility.
- Use precision inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and bore gauges to verify dimensional accuracy and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
- Inspect machined components and document results to support quality assurance and regulatory compliance for flight-critical engine parts.
- Train, monitor, and mentor junior and entry-level machinists, providing guidance on machining techniques, programming, quality control, and safe work practices.
- Promote best practices in machining, programming, quality, and workplace safety across the team.
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on machining centers to maintain optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Ensure all work adheres to FAA/EASA Repair Station safety, quality, and operational standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality personnel to resolve machining issues and continuously improve processes.

- Solid mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills for machining processes and equipment.
- Experience with drill press and general machine operating in a precision manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lead, train, and mentor junior machinists while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
- Commitment to adhering to aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements for flight-critical components.
Why Work Here? You will join a technically advanced environment where craftsmanship and precision are highly valued, and your expertise directly supports safety and performance in aerospace applications. The organization emphasizes continuous learning, providing opportunities to mentor others while expanding your own skills in CNC programming, advanced materials, and regulatory standards.
