Job Title: Generator TechnicianPay: $30-50/hrShift: 1st M-F (8:00 AM 5:00 PM)Location: 4179 Dunn Road, Ellenwood, Georgia, 30294Placement: 6-month contract to hireJob DescriptionWe are looking for a hands-on Generator Technician to service, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair diesel-powered generator systems. This position requiressomeone comfortable working on both the diesel engine/mechanical side and the electrical controls side of generators.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and routine service on diesel generators.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose engine, mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
• Repair diesel engines, electrical components, wiring, controls, and generator assemblies.
• Monitor generator performance and identify potential problems before they cause downtime.
• Assist with the installation and startup of new generator systems.
• Use diagnostic equipment and a company-provided laptop to troubleshoot and document repairs.
• Travel to customer/job sites and perform field service work.
• Participate in a rotating weekend on-call schedule.
• Work overtime as needed.
• Follow proper safety procedures while working around diesel and electrical equipment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience servicing or repairing diesel generators.
• Strong diesel/mechanical troubleshooting experience.
• Basic to strong electrical knowledge, including controls, wiring, and electrical diagnostics.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot a generator from start to finish.
• Military generator experience, generator technician experience, or similar industrial diesel experience is a plus.
• Experience with Volvo equipment is a plus. Training and Volvo certification will be provided.
• Comfortable using diagnostic software and a laptop.
• Must have basic personal hand tools; specialty tools will be provided.

Schedule

• Typically 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
• Overtime available/required depending on service needs
• Rotating weekend on-call schedule

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
