Job Title: Shipping and Receiving ClerkJob DescriptionThe Shipping and Receiving Clerk supports the shipping operations by assisting with daily inbound and outbound shipments. This role focuses on accurately picking, packing, labeling, and preparing customer orders for shipment, while safely handling materials and operating warehouse equipment.

Responsibilities

• Pick and pack customer orders according to specific requirements and packing slips.
• Read and interpret packing slips to accurately package envelopes and other items into boxes.
• Package boxes of orders securely to prevent damage during transit.
• Label boxes clearly and correctly to ensure accurate shipment and delivery.
• Load boxes onto a shrink wrap machine and operate it to wrap pallets prior to shipment.
• Stack and organize boxes onto pallets in a safe and efficient manner.
• Load completed pallets onto trucks for outbound shipments.
• Handle materials throughout the warehouse using appropriate equipment, including forklifts.
• Count inventory by hand and verify quantities against bills of lading (BOL) and customer orders.
• Work independently throughout the shift, staying productive without constant supervision.
• Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of required personal protective equipment such as earplugs.

Essential Skills

• Previous experience packing orders for customers in a warehouse or shipping environment.
• Ability to read and understand packing slips and accurately package envelopes into boxes.
• Experience operating a forklift, including sit-down or stand-up models.
• Demonstrated self-starter mindset with the ability to stay motivated and work without constant direction.
• Basic math skills, including the ability to count inventory by hand and match counts to bills of lading and customer orders.
• Valid drivers license.

Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a large facility that includes a warehouse and shipping area near the front dock doors and a production area on the other side.

The environment is loud and well lit, with active machinery and equipment in operation throughout the day. The facility is not climate controlled, though industrial fans are positioned throughout the space to improve air circulation and comfort. This is a first-shift position, working Monday through Friday in the afternoon and early evening. Earplugs are required and provided by the company, and employees are expected to wear appropriate attire suitable for a busy warehouse setting.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
