The Paediatric Service is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed General Locum Consultant Paediatrician to work fulltime at the North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust. The Trust is committed to working in partnership with colleagues in the Tees valley Integrated Care Partnership and wider North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care System. As such, the team will work as part of a wider network at times to strengthen care pathways and support ongoing workforce development.
Applications are invited for a Locum Consultant Paediatrician, who will be based at the University Hospital of North Tees, Stockton, to start as soon as possible.

The appointee will join a full time NHS Consultant Group. The position includes consultant of the week covering general paediatrics and level one neonates.
They will have commitments to the new Children & Young People's Emergency Department (CYPED), Special Care Baby Unit and will conduct clinics in Hartlepool, Stockton, or Peterlee bases.
The role will provide on-call for the hybrid rota, which includes weekends on-calls, including resident cover.
The resident cover for weekday evening cover is from 1700-2200. The resident cover on weekends is from 0900-2200.
There will also be the requirement to support with Outpatient clinics across the service

Qualification and experience Essential
Fully registered with GMC Applicant must produce evidence the he/she is either on the UK specialist registrar or within 6 months of CCT date, and is expected to achieve a CCT Ability to offer expert opinion on range of problems, both elective and emergency within the speciality Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients Experience with Child Protection Experience and commitment to clinical audit Good understanding of NHS, Social Services, educational Services, knowledge and understanding of national guidance and legislation in relation to safeguarding children Competent to work under pressure APLS/EPLS/NLS Teaching Experience MRCPCH or similar
Desirable
Training relating to Paediatric specialist area of role Experience working independently at Consultant Level. Experience in independently managing children with complex needs Training/experience in NHS management. Experience in managing and leading specialist unit, directorate teams and working parties as appropriate Educational supervision training Formal training in teaching. Publications in peer-reviewed journals. Previous research experience. Quality improvement project relating to General Paediatrics
