Position Overview
The Manager - Industrial Engineering will drive process mapping, standardization, productivity improvement, workflow optimization, and cost efficiency across relevant operations. The role will work closely with Regional and site teams to review existing processes, identify gaps and improvement opportunities, develop standard operating procedures, and support the implementation of sustainable process changes. The incumbent will use data analysis and performance reporting to measure outcomes and ensure that improvements support service quality, turnaround time, shipment integrity, safety, and operational efficiency.
Job Purpose
To improve operational performance through standardized processes, optimized workflows, data-led analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives, while ensuring that changes contribute to better productivity, service quality, resource utilization, and cost efficiency across locations.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Process Mapping & Standardization
- Map existing operational processes and identify gaps, duplication, bottlenecks, and opportunities for simplification.
- Develop, implement, review, and maintain SOPs to promote consistent execution across locations.
- Coordinate with Regional and site teams to support adoption of standardized processes and monitor compliance.
Productivity & Workflow Optimization
- Design and recommend optimized workflows and layouts to reduce congestion, rehandling, unnecessary movement, and delays.
- Support productivity benchmarking across sites and identify opportunities to improve throughput and resource utilization.
- Drive process improvement initiatives with operational stakeholders and track implementation progress.
Ergonomics, Safety & Service Quality
- Review proposed process changes to ensure they support safe and practical ways of working.
- Assess the impact of process changes on service quality, TAT adherence, and shipment integrity.
- Coordinate with relevant teams to address process-related quality or safety concerns and support preventive actions.
Cost Efficiency & Resource Optimization
- Identify opportunities to reduce cost-to-serve through process simplification, automation, and improved resource utilization.
- Assess manpower, equipment, space, and workflow utilization to highlight potential efficiency improvements.
- Track benefits realization from implemented changes and report progress against agreed improvement objectives.
Data Analytics & Reporting
- Develop and maintain dashboards, MIS, and reports to track productivity, quality, TAT, and improvement outcomes.
- Use data analysis and advanced Excel to identify trends, recurring issues, root causes, and performance gaps.
- Conduct deep dives into quality metrics and coordinate with Regional Teams to implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Monitor action closure and validate whether implemented measures deliver the intended results.
Stakeholder Coordination & Change Implementation
- Work with Regional Operations, site teams, Quality, Safety, IT, and other relevant stakeholders to implement process changes.
- Support trials, pilots, rollouts, and post-implementation reviews for process improvement initiatives.
- Communicate revised SOPs and process requirements clearly and support teams during implementation.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Graduate in Engineering
Experience
- 5–7 years of experience in Industrial Engineering / Process Engineering.
- Experience in the Supply Chain or Logistics industry is preferred.
- Hands-on experience in data analysis and Advanced Excel will be an added advantage.
