Role Outline
Support the analysis, coordination and improvement of end-to-end supply-chain performance across supply, inventory, warehousing, transport and customer-service activities. Convert customer requirements, demand information and operational data into practical recommendations that improve service, cost, inventory, capacity, risk and stakeholder alignment. Support logistics solution proposals, account-development initiatives and cross-functional projects while developing broad integrated supply-chain capability. Provide accurate management information and fact-based decision support to operations, key account management and senior management.
Key Accountabilities
- Map product, information and decision flows from supplier through warehouse and transport to customer.
- Identify constraints, hand-off failures, duplicated activity and service risks.
- Assess the cost, service, inventory and risk implications of recommendations.
- Analyse history, seasonality, promotions, forecasts and forecast variation.
- Support ABC/ABC-XYZ segmentation, stock-cover, ageing, slow-moving and obsolescence analysis.
- Translate demand scenarios into warehouse and transport capacity requirements.
- Monitor inbound, storage, picking, dispatch and inventory-control performance.
- Analyse dock-to-stock, order cycle time, inventory accuracy, picking accuracy, fill rate and space utilisation.
- Identify process gaps requiring detailed industrial-engineering investigation.
- Analyse on-time collection/delivery, vehicle utilisation, route adherence, delivery failure and unit transport cost.
- Support assessment of modes, carriers, frequencies and network options.
- Analyse interactions between transport schedules, warehouse cut-offs and customer service.
- Support customer reviews, proposals, cost-to-serve and account-development initiatives.
- Understand logistics cost drivers, rate structures and SLA commitments.
- Track actions and translate customer priorities into operational initiatives.
- Map supply, inventory, systems, transport, facility and capacity risks.
- Maintain mitigation, contingency and continuity actions.
- Support SOP compliance, document control and corporate governance.
- Coordinate stakeholders, actions, timelines and communication for assigned workstreams.
- Support implementation, training, adoption and post-implementation review.
- Present concise evidence-based recommendations to decision-makers.
Qualifications & Experience
- A Matric certificate with English and Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy is essential
- BCom specialising in Supply Chain Management, BCom Logistics Management or a closely related NQF Level 7 qualification.
