Division: Operations
Reporting to: Security & Risk Manager
Security Leadership & Risk Management
- Lead and coordinate all security activities at JNB-GTW in compliance with DHL security policies, procedures, and local legislation.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate security threats and vulnerabilities through ongoing risk and threat analysis.
- Investigate security incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor criminal trends and security risks affecting operations and recommend appropriate countermeasures.
- Ensure accurate reporting and analysis of all security incidents.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with Regional Security Policies, GSOP, SCMS, ISO standards, aviation security requirements, and relevant South African legislation.
- Conduct security audits and manage corrective action plans to maintain compliance.
- Monitor regulatory developments affecting aviation, ground operations, and logistics security.
- Coordinate responses to regulatory changes and implement security requirements accordingly.
Contract & Vendor Management
- Manage and monitor contracted security service providers and ensure adherence to contractual obligations and performance standards.
- Establish controls to ensure outsourced security personnel meet DHL security expectations.
- Conduct performance reviews, compliance audits, and service-level monitoring.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Security Management, Criminology or Policing
- Minimum 5 years' experience in corporate, logistics, transportation, aviation, or related security environments.
- Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Proven experience in:
- Security risk assessments
- Incident investigations
- Loss prevention
- Threat analysis
- Corrective-action management
- Compliance auditing
- Experience managing outsourced security service providers and service-level agreements.
- Experience within an air cargo, gateway, warehousing, aviation, or time-critical logistics environment.
- Experience engaging with regulatory and law-enforcement agencies is advantageous.
Professional Certifications
- Valid PSIRA Registration (preferably Grade A where applicable).
- Aviation and Air Cargo Security training aligned to SACAA requirements would be advantageous.
- Professional certifications such as:
- ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP)
- TAPA Training
