Key Requirements
- NVQ Level 2 in childcare/early years or equivalent
- Knowledge of EYFS and child development
- Minimum of GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths at grades A – C.
- Committed to own professional development, and be willing to undertake appropriate training.
- Good communication and listening skills and be able to present information verbally and in writing.
- Able to feedback information to teachers and other staff.
- Understand school’s policies and how they relate to local and national frameworks/policies (e.g. child protection, health and safety, equal opportunities, SEN).
- Good knowledge and understanding of the curriculum.
- Able to use ICT effectively to support learning.
- Can adapt planning if required.
- Have a ‘can do’ attitude, able to solve problems and exercise initiative.
- The belief that all children deserve a life of choice and opportunity
- Commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of all children
- Has an interest in, or experience of, supporting children with SEND, Autism and/or social and communication difficulties.
- Ability to work successfully with children with SEND
- Be passionate about working with children and developing young minds
- Is enthusiastic, adaptable and committed to creating an inclusive learning environment.
