The States of Guernsey are looking for a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to join the team.
As part of the Positive Behaviour Support PBS Team, the PBS Practitioner will work alongside both children and adults with learning disabilities in a variety of community-based settings.
The PBS Practitioner is responsible for conducting Functional Assessments, developing Positive Behaviour Support plans and supporting families and staff to implement a variety of positive behavioural interventions.

Job description Job responsibilities
Ensure all practice is guided by the BACB Ethics code for Behaviour Analysts and/or UK-SBA code of ethical and professional conduct.
To conduct comprehensive functional behaviour assessment, skills assessments using, preference and reinforcer assessments using the principles of Applied Behavioural Analysis.
To design and implement behaviour analytical interventions and teaching plans to address behaviours of concern and teach functional skills.
To seek the referred persons views on the development of goals, and behaviour support planning, with the focus on improvement in quality of life.
To facilitate ongoing data collection for monitoring progress, amendments to behaviour support plans, and fading services.
To ensure all data recorded is displayed in a graphical manner to facilitate progress monitoring, reporting, and collaboration.
Support families and staff in the understanding of behavioural functions and to learn the necessary skills to ensure progress is maintained in the persons environment.
To ensure that Positive Behavioural Support Plans focus on improvements in quality of life as both an intervention and an outcome.
To attend, contribute to and facilitate meetings related to the referred person.
To write clear and comprehensive reports which detail the assessments, interventions, and outcomes for the referred person.
To maintain clear and ongoing clinical records detailing direct work with the referred person, their families/support staff, and any other relevant stakeholder.
Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Registration with the UK-SBA and/or BACB. Masters degree in applied Behaviour Analysis or Positive Behaviour Support. Current and valid driving licence. Experience of assessing and intervening in the support of children and adults with severe learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. Excellent communication skills. Empathetic and caring nature. Good computer skills including Word, Excel, SharePoint. Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
