Requirements

- A-Level or equivalent qualification
- Previous study or experience in IT or computing is desirable, including experience with Microsoft 365 or Active Directory
- An entry-level IT certification, such as CompTIA A+, or A-Level or equivalent, is desirable
- One year of IT Technician experience is preferred
- One year of Microsoft 365 and Active Directory experience is preferred
Responsibilities
- Set up workstations with computers and peripheral devices, such as routers and printers, under the guidance of our IT team
- Install and configure software according to specifications
- Assist with maintaining local networks to support their performance
- Help keep networks and computer systems secure and private, following company policy and UK GDPR
- Provide colleagues with guidance on using new software and equipment
- Help organise and schedule upgrades and maintenance to minimise disruption to colleagues
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve problems, including repairing or replacing parts
- Help identify equipment shortages and raise orders for approval
- Travel to our other sites and motor factors to provide IT cover, as required and as training allows
- Complete a Level 3 Infrastructure Technician apprenticeship
- Spend at least 20 per cent of contracted working hours on paid, off-the-job training
- Meet regularly with a line manager, mentor and training provider to review progress

We are looking for a motivated Apprentice IT Technician to learn to install and maintain computer systems and networks while studying alongside our experienced IT team. The role provides practical experience with Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, Active Directory and company networks, supporting the development and maintenance of efficient systems across our sites. This is a full-time, fully office-based apprenticeship paying £23,132.20 per year, based in a town centre location, with travel to other sites as required.
