More
WhatWorked Education helps teachers find out what works through micro-randomised controlled trials: small, rigorous trials run in their own classrooms. Our platform guides teachers through each trial and produces automated analysis and instant impact reports. We plan to extend this model beyond education, starting with health within the next 12 months. This is our first in-house engineering role, leading the move of platform development from our current development partner. Our current stack includes PHP/Symfony, React, PostgreSQL and AWS, and we want the engineer to help shape our engineering strategy and explore new uses of AI.
By the end of the first year, we expect the platform to run reliably under our ownership, an AI-assisted pipeline to be delivering improvements, and initial steps towards health trials to be underway. We offer the opportunity to become a key senior leader and shape our technology and company direction, build our engineering approach from the ground up, and do work with real-world impact.
The starting salary is £60,000 plus a performance bonus, with a 10% employer pension contribution, flexible annual leave of at least 25 days plus bank holidays, company pension and on-site parking.
The role is hybrid, based in Durham DH1 5JZ.
Applicants should submit a CV and a covering letter of no more than one page via Indeed, explaining their interest in the role and what they would bring.
