Requirements
- Strong experience in networking, systems integration, or edge computing
- Comfortable working with Linux and coding or scripting
- Practical, hands-on engineering mindset
- Experience leading technical work or mentoring others
- Mesh networking experience is highly desirable
- Experience with drone video, video transmission, broadcast technology, or real-time media streaming is highly advantageous
- Relevant backgrounds may include network or software engineering in telecoms, radio, or communications technology; drone, UAV, or video transmission engineering; broadcast and media technology; or systems integration and technical leadership
- SC eligibility required
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy edge computing and networking solutions
- Develop mesh networking capabilities and resilient communications systems
- Work with Linux-based devices and write code to support integrations
- Integrate sensors, cameras, and communications hardware
- Carry out hands-on engineering, including cabling, soldering, and hardware setup
- Participate in regular innovation and hackathon projects

We are looking for a hands-on Edge Engineer to join an innovative team developing field-deployed technology that combines edge computing, networking, and sensor integration. The role focuses on building intelligent mesh networks that can transmit data from remote and challenging environments, helping shape next-generation edge and mesh networking solutions. The position is based in Oxford, with hybrid working and ideally three days onsite. The stated salary range is £65,000–£95,000; final remuneration will depend on the successful candidates experience, skills, and qualifications and will be agreed subject to the contract terms.
