About this role

Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic Salaried GP to join our clinical team, working 4-8 sessions in the historic market town of Hexham in the Tyne Valley.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will manage a clinically diverse caseload, delivering face-to-face and remote consultations and home visits.

Duty doctor sessions are shared among the GP team, working alongside our Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Paramedic.

GPs also undertake daily administrative tasks including pathology results, clinical correspondence, and repeat prescription requests.

You will contribute to the practices excellent performance in the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF), local enhanced services, and clinical audits.

About us

Burn Brae Medical Group serves around 10,000 patients and covers approximately 180 square miles, centred around the town of Hexham in the rural Tyne Valley. Our Primary Care Centre was built in 2008 on the Hexham General Hospital site and is very patient friendly, being built all on one level with large consulting rooms, easy disabled access, plenty of natural light and within easy reach of the town centre and with good public transport links.

We offer a supportive environment with the clinical team meeting informally every day with regular formal meetings taking place.

The practice prides itself on its inclusive nature and informal approach. While we take our medical service provision very seriously, we also strive to make sure Burn Brae is full of friendship, support and laughter.

We are a training Practice, hosting GP Registrars and medical students in years 1-5.

Job description Job responsibilities

Fully utilise our EMIS clinical system to consult with patients face to face and by telephone as required.

Undertake home visits when required.

Assess, prescribe, refer, treat and advise patients as required.

Respond to clinical queries from the wider team.

Undertake a fair share of duty doctor sessions, clinical administration, including tasks, bloods, and other general duties.

Complete medical reports and examinations (eg DVLA) as and when required.

Provide support to the wider clinical team including being available to our highly experienced ANPs when required

Other duties as may be reasonably required from time to time

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Medical degree Full registration with GMC No restrictions on clinical practise
