Job summary

Join the team at Silverdale Medical Practice as a Salaried GP and become part of a supportive, forward-thinking and highly experienced multidisciplinary team serving approximately 12,700 patients within Swinton Primary Care Network in Salford.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and patient-focused GP to join us for 4 sessions per week on Tuesdays and Fridays on a fixed-term contract until 31 March 2027, with the opportunity for the role to become permanent thereafter dependent on funding.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will provide high quality primary medical care through a mixture of face-to-face, telephone and online consultations. Duties will include the assessment, diagnosis and management of acute and chronic conditions, reviewing pathology and clinical correspondence, prescribing safely and maintaining accurate clinical records using EMIS Web.

The role includes working closely with our wider multidisciplinary team including GP Partners, Advanced Practitioners, Pharmacists, Nurses and Care Coordinators to provide safe, effective and patient-centred care. There will also be opportunities to contribute to practice development and quality improvement work.

Job SummarySilverdale Medical Practice is seeking an enthusiastic and patient-centred Salaried GP to join our experienced and supportive multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will provide high quality primary medical services to our patient population through face-to-face, telephone and online consultations, whilst contributing to the continued development of high quality, safe and effective services within the practice and Primary Care Network.

The post-holder will work collaboratively with GP Partners, Salaried GPs, Advanced Practitioners, Pharmacists, Nurses, Care Coordinators and the wider practice team to deliver excellent patient care.

Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe post-holder will:

Provide high quality clinical care to patients through face-to-face, telephone and online consultations.

Assess, diagnose and manage patients presenting with acute and chronic medical conditions.

Prescribe safely and appropriately in accordance with local and national guidance.

Undertake home visits where clinically appropriate.

Review and action pathology results, clinical correspondence and other associated workflow tasks.

Maintain accurate, contemporaneous and comprehensive clinical records using EMIS Web.

Provide appropriate follow-up care and continuity for patients.

Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team.

Support safeguarding processes for children and vulnerable adults.

Participate in clinical meetings, educational sessions and practice development activities.

Contribute to quality improvement work, enhanced services and contractual requirements including QOF and local initiatives.

Participate in audit and clinical governance activities where appropriate.

Maintain professional registration, appraisal and revalidation requirements.

Work within GMC guidance and practice policies at all times.

Manage a broad range of clinical presentations in General Practice.

Refer patients appropriately to secondary care and community services.

Use Advice and Guidance pathways where clinically appropriate.

Promote preventative healthcare and health education.

Work collaboratively with ARRS staff and community services.

Escalate concerns regarding patient safety where necessary.

Support safe prescribing and medicines optimisation initiatives.

Qualifications Essential

Fully qualified General Practitioner with current GMC registration and licence to practise Included on the NHS England Medical Performers List MRCGP qualification or equivalent recognised GP qualification Evidence of continued professional development Eligible to work in the UK Evidence of appraisal and revalidation compliance Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities for children and vulnerable adults Experience of working within UK General Practice Competent in the management of acute and chronic medical conditions Good IT skills with experience of clinical systems, preferably EMIS Web
