1 x BAND 5 STATIC Physiotherapist - for Acute Medicine(LRI/LGH)
We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified Physiotherapist to join our motivated and enthusiastic team working on our Acute Medicine wards at Leicester Royal Infirmary and Leicester General Hospitals.
We are seeking applicants who are team players and enjoy the challenge of the acute setting. You will be part of the wider Medicine Therapy Team, including the LRI Respiratory Medicine Physiotherapy team, and the Therapy team working at Preston Lodge.
Main duties of the job
You will assess and treat patients on the medical wards at LRI and LGH. You will have excellent communication skills and will liaise closely with the multidisciplinary team on the wards as well as the patients, their relatives and carers,
You will gain experience working with a caseload of patients with a variety of conditions including frail older adults, fractures, falls and cognitive impairment. Therefore this post would suit an individual with an interest in the management of older adults with complex needs.
You will join a supportive team of Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists and will receive regular supervision and appraisal to promote personal development. You will be actively encouraged to be involved in service development, audit and research within the team. There is also structured in-service training in place within the team which you will be encouraged to be involved with.
The successful candidate would need to be flexible in their working as the service is provided over 7 days a week. The team are working to provide a collaborative approach to therapy across all systems.

To be part of the Physiotherapy team serving acute medicine speciality. To carry a clinical caseload: working to national and local guidelines and Service priorities with those who may have complex needs including physical, psychological and communication difficulties. To promote independence and facilitate optimum function, working with patients, families and carers and the multi-disciplinary team to achieve agreed outcomes for patients. To increase and consolidate existing clinical knowledge and skills in Physiotherapy assessment and treatment, as well as respiratory physiotherapy skills.

Training & Qualifications Essential
State Registered Physiotherapist with Current HCPC registration Diploma in Physiotherapy or BSC (Hons) Physiotherapy or equivalent oEvidence of up to date professional portfolio with evidence of CPD and reflective practise
