About this role
Job summary
Were looking for a confident, compassionate and motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly, forward-thinking nursing team. Were particularly interested in someone with experience in long-term condition management, especially type 2 diabetes, who enjoys the variety of general practice nursing and wants to keep developing their clinical expertise.
Your working pattern: lets make it work
Were ideally looking for someone for 28.5 hours, but that doesnt have to mean five days a week. Were happy to explore:
- four longer days instead of five
- compressed hours across fewer days
- a mix of longer and shorter days
- other patterns that suit both you and the practice
Were looking for the right nurse, not just someone who fits a traditional 9-to-5.
Main duties of the job
This is a varied general practice nursing role, including:
- long-term condition management, particularly diabetes, hypertension and cardiovascular disease
- asthma and COPD reviews, where appropriately trained
- cervical screening
- adult and childhood immunisations
- wound assessment and management
- travel health and vaccinations, where appropriately trained
- health promotion, prevention and screening
- supporting patients with multiple long-term conditions
- working closely with our GPs, pharmacists, healthcare assistants and wider multidisciplinary team
About us
Forest Health Group is a large, established GP practice caring for over 33,000 patients across three sites in Bracknell.
Nursing excellence is something were especially proud of. With three Queens Nurses in our practice, we have a strong culture of clinical leadership, professional development and a shared commitment to outstanding patient care. We support our nurses to grow, develop their clinical interests and feel valued for the expertise they bring.
We also know that being a Practice Nurse involves much more than seeing patients. Thats why we have a dedicated nurse administration team. They help with clinic administration, follow-ups and other non-clinical tasks, so our nurses can concentrate on patient care.
Teamwork isnt just about clinical meetings, either. Our daily 11am coffee catch-ups on Teams are something of a tradition. Theyre a chance to connect, share a laugh and stay part of the team, whichever site youre working at.
