Closing Date: 16 November 2026
This is a role for someone who can keep classrooms calm and learning underway when teachers are absent — explaining tasks clearly, managing behaviour, and supporting students to make progress across a range of secondary subjects. You will be reliable, adaptable to short-notice changes and confident working with young people in a school that values close relationships and high expectations.
What you'll be doing
- Supervise classes during lessons, break and form time in the absence of the classroom teacher, maintaining a calm, focused learning environment.
- Explain and, where required, adapt the work set so students can access tasks and continue to make progress.
- Support and assist students individually and in small groups with the work set.
- Complete lesson administration, evaluate the session and provide clear feedback to the subject teacher.
- Implement and follow the school behaviour policy and follow up behaviour matters as required.
- Take responsibility for student welfare and health & safety in the classroom.
- Carry out a programme of duties (three per week) and other reasonable tasks within the scope of your skills (for example, additional in-class support or reception cover when required).
What we're looking for

- Clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and willingness to follow school procedures.
- A reliable approach to attendance, punctuality and professional presentation.
